Sim Wrap Market is excited to announce that we will be hosting daily practice sessions in iRacing starting Monday, January 2nd, for two weeks leading up to the 24 hours of Daytona on iRacing, January 20th to January 22nd. These practice sessions will replicate the official event's weather and other relevant settings so drivers can get a feel for what to expect during the race.
The vehicles used in The Daytona 24h powered by VCO include the BMW M Hybrid V8, Dallara P217, Audi R8 LMS GT3, BMW M4 GT3, Ferrari 488 GT3 Evo 2020, Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO, Mercedes-AMG GT3 2020, and Porsche 911 GT3 R.
The official event will feature a warmup session of 30 minutes. Qualifying sessions are available attached to the event or as a solo session before the official event. The qualifying sessions will last up to 8 minutes and involve two laps. The race will be a 24-hour endurance event, with dynamic weather and splits based on iRating. This event will be a team event, with teams consisting of a minimum of 2 drivers and a maximum of 16. There will be a stop-and-go limit of 100 incidents, with an additional 20 incidents after that. There will be no disqualification limit, and the field size will be 50.
We encourage all drivers to take advantage of these practice sessions to hone their skills and get a feel for the tracks and vehicles they will use in the official event. We hope to see everyone at the virtual Daytona International Speedway – Road Course soon!
